LET’S GET STARTED!
First, please check out My Artwork page to get an idea of various types of portraits and the kind of artwork I do. If you want more information about the materials I use to create a portrait (graphite pencil, charcoal, pastel, acrylic or oil), click here. If you are interested in having me create a custom fine-art portrait for you, you can contact me in any of the ways listed below. PLEASE ATTACH THE PHOTOS YOU ARE CONSIDERING. Tell me what you have in mind, and I’ll be happy to answer any of your questions and suggest options for pose, size, medium, etc. I will give you a free, no-obligation quote for each option.
- Email me at gloria@gloriapinskerportraits.com or portraitsgloria@aol.com
- Call or text me at: (215) 954-2294. You can text me your photos initially so I can take a look, but I will need them emailed in jpeg format before I can use them for your portrait. You can leave me a voicemail 24/7. No calls will be returned unless you leave a voicemail!

If you have not yet taken the photographs, first check out Examples of Good Reference Photos. If you have questions or need advice, please contact me and I’ll be glad to help you! If you need photos taken, contact me for details.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are sending me professional studio photographs, you MUST obtain a written release from the photographer, giving me permission to create artwork from their photo, in order to avoid copyright infringement. If the photos are very old “vintage photographs,” this permission usually is not necessary.
In your email/text/direct message, I need the following information (the more info you give me, the better I can help you). Please be sure to include all information that is labeled “required.”Your Name (required)
- Phone number
- City & State (required)
- Photo (required). If you have no photos yet, please indicate this in your message.
- Subject of Portrait — animal type, child, adult (required)
- Pose — i.e., head & shoulders, half- or three-quarter, full body, etc. *
- Do you want color or monochrome (black & white or three-color)?* (required)
- Do you want Pencil, Charcoal, Pastel, Acrylic or Oil? *
* (If you are unsure about these questions, don’t worry! Once I see your photos, we can discuss options.)
GIFT VOUCHERS:
Don’t have enough time to have the portrait done for a special occasion? Purchase a GIFT VOUCHER! Simply decide what sort of portrait you’d like to give (person or animal), the size (head-and-shoulders, half-length, full-length) and the medium (pastel, acrylic, charcoal, or graphite pencil). The gift voucher will include this information, but will NOT show a dollar amount (unless you want it to). Please contact me for details.
Please note that if you are planning a portrait as a surprise gift for someone, one option is to present them with a gift voucher and then let them be a part of the portrait process — i.e., picking out a favorite photo(s) or otherwise having input into the process. Most people enjoy being included in these decisions. This, of course, would depend on the particular situation, but it is something to consider.

- Do you have lots and lots of photos on your digital camera or cell phone, where people seldom see them? Don’t keep them hidden or risk losing them! Pick a favorite or two and have them turned into a work of art for you and your family to cherish for generations. As long as the photo is clear and high resolution, it may be suitable for a portrait.
- Is someone close to you heartbroken over the loss of a beloved family member or pet? Honor its memory forever with a beautiful portrait to give them!
- Turn a vintage photograph of a family member, or from your childhood, into a beautiful work of art. If the photo is in black-and-white, I can render it in color if you can supply me with the necessary information (contact me for details)
- Does your child or other family member enjoy participating in sports, playing an instrument, riding horses, dancing ballet, etc.? Capture this fleeting, happy time with a painting of them portrayed with items or clothing that represent what they love to do. This is called a “genre portrait” and is a time-honored tradition in portraiture.
- What about a gift for yourself? Celebrate a special time or milestone in your own life. Wear something that makes you look and feel terrific, and capture that image for all time.
Completion time for your portrait will depend on your place on my waiting list. You will be informed when I start working on your portrait, and from beginning of work on the portrait to delivery please allow 4-8 weeks, depending on complexity of the portrait. Christmas/Hanukkah orders must be placed by Sept. 15 and are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, as I can take only a limited number of holiday commissions.
